A form-fit gripper can be used to grasp workpieces with a round or spherical surface. During lifting, the gripper can be loaded in several different directions while remaining attached to the load at all times. The form-fit design is a cost-effective solution compared to alternative gripping methods with actuators. Form-fit grippers are relatively small and lightweight, making them easy to handle in production.
The advantage of a form-fit gripper is that it can handle awkwardly shaped pieces flexibly in a variety of lifting situations. This allows the same gripper to be used at different stages of production, saving the customer stage time and therefore production costs.
